Semakau Island trip

To get to Semakau Island, we had to take a ferry...

What Island is that...it must be close to the mainland cuz you can see some high rise buildings behind it...
And then there's this small island popping out from nowhere...looks a bit like Ayers Rock(if you now what it is), doesnt it? Only that it is covered by a hell lot of vegetation...


After a 45 mins ferry ride...we set foot on Semakau Island...
This is the main building of the Island...where the offices are located...
We were brought into that building and given a talk on Semakau Island by this guy who was quite vulgar...he said the word "shit" quite a few times...

After the talk...we were brought around the islandd by a small bus...
This is actually a landfill...after all the rubbish(which isnt smelly cuz the rubbish dumped here is non-organic eg.ashes) that this area and contain have been dumped here, soil is then put onto it and after that...vegetation is grown. Does'nt look like a landfill does it?

The bus then drove us to a place on the island where there is a mangrove...i cant exactly remember why the had to make a mangrove there..but it something related to a warning system...

The bus then stopped and for us to get down...we were allowed 10/15 mins for to wonder around the place where we got off...
The 15 mins were up and we had to return to the bus...


It was time to go...and we boarded the ferry...
This is the place where the rubbish transported from the ships are dumped into first...

We all had a lot of fun on the ferry...and the most fun part of the ship is?...The toliet...haha
The girls wondering into the chamber where the toliets are....btw..siyuan screamed as she was inside the toliet...cuz it is very dark...

Right next to the toliets were the crew quarters...i was wondering how the lived in it....it was so fuc*in dark and stuffy!

A glimmer of hope for me to climb out of the chamber?...lol....

An evil Kexuan tried to take a photo at me....haha...but i took hers without her knowing...cuz i put my camera at the waist and tilt it up...

Sadly...after this photo, my batteries (actually jiasheng's; i borrowed them from him...cuz mine ran out) ran low...so i couldnt take anymore photos....damn it...

We all had a fun day a the Semakau Island... i also learnt some things about the waste disposal in Singapore. But, the most fun part of the trip was still the toliet part...it was so cool...me and vincent juz kept going down there...

Or maybe a last post...i sent him some pictures yesterday...mainly on the Semakau Island trip...let him post those pictures first...even though i have the pictures and can post them. Then maybe i will start from scratch after that.

Palau Semakau Trip [ FINALE ]

WOW!Finally, the last post for the trip is here!!!Even though the trip is like a week ago, I will still post due to the avid request of JY and SP and some forgotten people.(mind you, I have poor memory)Ok I shall continue...

Ok I stopped at the perfect photos and up next is the TOLIET!!!





From here it seemed very peaceful, until we went down the stairs of descendance.[NOTE: I took this photograph while standing on the steps...]

Now this is the scary part....It's like descending from heaven to hell ( just like me, the first maths test but I jumped from hell to heaven again)
Beginning seemed very "kong bu" but after a while, I was addicted to the engine fumes and the creepy living quarters underneath and keep on going up and down the whole return journey...!!!

The gents!But for some creepy reasons it was locked up and we never found a way in...legend has it that someone shitted in there and was drowned by toliet bowl water...so....very eerie a place...

The ladies!BTW all of us can only use the ladies as the the reasons are stated previously...So embarassing!

Here's what it looks like in the toliet and it is situated on a raised platform and therefore you will have to climb on top to use it...and when you close the door, the inside is pitch black...Really!Don't believe ask the girls, they have to go in groups INTO the toliet cubicle and on their hand-phone lights to luminate the cubicle!!!

So shiok!Look at the fume-mey living quarters!How do you think they lived there?It's living hell in there and it's like filled with choking "methane" plus the combustion-in-the-engine smell...Whoa....shih yu so envious then look what happened...

Shih Yu later became demented immediately when he found out Cristella was sleeping inside!!!HAHAHA!!!I AM SO BAD...just joking...now get back to serious business...

What is that hanging in that plastic bag?Like very scary like that...It may look bright at that time, but it is actually my camera's flash donig it's work!I still remember that I was scared out of my wits learning that I was alone down there....sian...

Finally, I went up to the deck for some fresh air and stretch my legs and byebye, story ends!THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT AUDIENCES*!!!

Palau Semakau Trip [PART 3]

Yesterday stopped at the man's butt right?So let me continue...

Going to board the bus on the island...which I pathatically spilled my potato chips.HAHAOn the journey to the place where the perimeter of the Island ends, there is a gap where it allows new seawater to enter the cells which stores the wastes.This measure is done so as to prevent the infestation of mosquitoes.Frankly, these people at semakau island are quite witty...Is that what I see?A humongous sized tomato sauce?LOL, HM, I didn't know you were there though...I doubt anyone knows.HahaNothing special about this picture.The dense vegetation you see in the background is actually a man-made swamp and/or mangrove forest.Very neat!

Note: you can see the faint reflection of the crappy bus we took...

This one of the "savanas" at Smeakau Island.This photo is one of those photos which I thought were near-perfect quality..but i forgot to set it to extended and moded 6 mega pixels, so if it's unclear, don't complaint....If you are very scientific, this is actually a cell completely being filled by trash.And one thing to note: The air around there is of supreme quality.Don't even think of smelly atmosphere, as they only fill wastes such as concrete and ashes.In short, inorganic wastes.
